The customer related issues can be discrepancies in accounts, rectification of undue charges and other services provided by the bank. The duty of SBI PO also include managerial tasks like supervision of clerical work, making decisions for the benefit of the bank, and managing cash balance. Besides this, they have to verify all the work done by the bank clerks. In cash transactions, the clerks are the maker and PO is the checker and the responsibility of losses live entirely with the checker.

In India, SBI has the most modern developed equipment of banking and so its PO’s are trained with all latest developments. In era of cashless transactions, their job profile primarily includes duties like issue of ATM cards, cheque-books, and demand drafts etc. Besides these activities, they should always remain well-informed with latest development and notifications, issued by bank authorities.
After gaining sufficient experience of various banking activities and procedures, SBI PO’s are assigned with more responsible tasks like planning, budgeting, marketing, loan processing & approval, and investment management. After successfully completing the probation period, the SBI PO will be posted in any of SBI branch as Assistant Bank Manager. His job will be to handle routine customer based work such as passing a cheque, draft issuance, and cash management etc. on daily basis.
